There Could Be A Possibility To Pull A Positive From The Kalmindon Wreckage
1 must count my blessings, particularly in difficult days such as these. I’m facing a circumstance of such horrible financial threat that I have not dealt with before since the money are running out and it’s the closest to the cliff that I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve been close before.
Times of unemployment are hardly new, it’s the contractor’s curse, but this time things are worse because I was depending on someone who has conned very badly and very late. Earlier this year I trained in SEO through a company calling themselves Kalmindon that had been advertising at the Jobcentre. They wanted folks to join them and they would provide the clients. I had two interviews and the only difficulty was that I would have to pay them 3k for the training. Solutions were found and I finished the tuition and waited for them to put me in touch with paying clients so I could begin to earn my cash back and have a new, well paid career - after all, what could go wrong?
Well, quite a bit as it turned out. The company couldn’t come up with a dickie bird, let alone the “…employment guaranteed on completion of training” as assured on the website I originally contacted them on. And as I first met them in the offices of a couple of Job Centre’s and the ad was originally seen at Jobcentre Plus it all seemed genuine but it appears that there was no job. It was just a swindle, Kalmindon just wanted the money for the training, and then a long period of fobbing off began during which time my finances, largely the money left to me when my nana died earlier this year, have evaporated to almost zero.
So, here I am doing SEO on my own webpages to try and either get some customers of my own or at least demonstrate to potential employers that I can genuinely do this. So I am trying to use my company to offer both SEO and IT support in the Black Country. Since my missus is having treatment for breast cancer I have to be able to work from the homestead so as to be able to go to the hospital with her, particularly when she gets underway with radiotherapy just before Christmas and she will be going every day.
Firms in the Black Country need IT support just as as anyone else and small companies may not have dedicated support to call on. And many will have sites that don’t have much of an online presence as far as being in the search results is concerned and this is a major problem because if potential buyers cannot find their way onto the site through a basic search for things a company does, then the website honestly is not worth having.
So, although time is not in abundance and I need to to find some type of paid employment as soon as I can, I do reckon that with SEO and IT support I can offer worthy services to Black Country companies and help the local economy. And in these hard times, if I can get more customers that I can deal with personally, I can take someone on or who knows SEO, maybe a few and try and do something about the unemployment figures at the same time! Worth a go wouldn’t you say?
